  2. Both arbitration pre-hearing and hearing procedures are tailored to suit the needs of a particular case.

What to expect?

The arbitration process is like a court proceeding with several key differences.

  • Generally, less expensive than litigation.

  • Generally, more efficient than court proceedings.

  • Discovery is designed to be less burdensome than litigation.

  • Unless dictated by the arbitration agreement or agreed upon by the parties, traditional rules of evidence governing court trials are generally not followed in arbitration hearings.

  • Generally, there is no automatic right to appeal an arbitration award. Under federal and state laws, there are only a few ways to challenge an arbitrator's award.
